Hello! I wanted to know how to physically connect my chimp 300 to my pc to use capture software. I've never done anything like this before and I'm trying to learn. In particular, I do not understand if I necessarily need an art-net node, or if I can connect it, to the PC only with the ethernet cable.
Thank you!!
Hi, I have the same query, thanks
also know what software is used, thanks
Hi,

You need 4 things:
1 a chimp console
2 a pc
3 a working capture software (a free student edition at least)
4 a cat 5 network cable between you're console and you're pc.

activate in you're console artnet en give it an adres. E.g. 10.0.0.2
set you're pc network at 10.0.0.1 and it should work.
But don't forget patch some fixtures in the same universe you used in capture.

The visualisation software you mean?
The software we wright about it here above. Capture Nexum it was, but now since a couple of weeks the new Capture 2018. This programm gives me all the tools I need and wish, with a payable price.
Even there service is great. (And a free student edition is available, but this  version has ofcourse limited possibilities)

But there are a lot of other simulation software programms. MA 3D, Realizer, Wysiwyg e.g.
Make a list of features you want/needed, your're future plans with it,  the price you had to spent, Try a free edition if possible and make a choice.
