effekt speed / size changing - LMB - 20-09-2017

while changing speed or size in a running effekt the outputs are jumping. it is not possible to change effect during show, because it looks terrible.

Hi LMB,

So just trying to understand your situation could you clarify some things for me.
are you using the effect engine live? so do you mean the values jump while
using the FX engine? or do they jump when you assign a fader to control size/speed?

with kind regards

Wesley

Hi,

this is intended behavior. When you change the Speed of an Effect inside the Editor then the Effect is jumping to a new position. This position is calculated in a way that it would be here if the effect would have been started with this speed right from the beginning. It is done this way to assure that all Effects inside the programmer stay in sync. Otherwise you would have to blind/unblind the programmer to restart all effects to have them synced again.

Imagine a Pan/Tilt Circle Effect where you first start adding Pan Sine Wave manually and adjust the speed to some value. Later you add a Tilt Effect and set the speed to the same value of the Pan Speed. The programmer will then solve the issue of aligning both effects to the output matches exactly what you would see, if these effects were started simultaneously by a Cue.

Best regards,
Thomas
