UNICAST Artnet implementation - gabe - 06-04-2020
Hi, my suggestion is to implement unicast Artnet mode in chimp os.
for example: I'm using sacn for my dmx node and Artnet to control arena.
i don't want my node process more data then I need.
So unicast to desired IP address.
will be wonderful be able to give chimp more than one IP address(so unicast to multiple device).

If you are using sACN for your node your node will not be processing any ArtNet Data at the same time as these two protocols work very differently.
However, ArtNet being broadcasted will obviously still end up at every device in the network - however, if these devices do not listen on the ArtNet Port Number or UDP at all, then they will not even see ArtNet Data.
With a maximum of 6 Universes being sent by a Chimp network load is still pretty low; and for a multitude of users I believe it would be doing more harm then good

Sometimes You have to Unicast to a node , especially if you’re guest and there are complex routing and places technicians ask “you”can you unicast to mediaserver?” Is very possible situation, trust me 😬
Will be top unicast every universe, but also a simple “unicast to ip”entry will be okay
