Software Release V1.11 (19-12-2019)
#1
Version 1.11 (19.12.2019)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This updates adds support for OSC remote control, streaming ACN networking protocol and unlimited Fixture patching. It also includes several performance upgrades laying the groundwork for future feature upgrades.
For Details please refer to the manual V1.11.

Removal of limitation on Fixture Count:
---------------------------------------
Looking at the rising number of Multi-Pixel Fixtures including LED Fixtures and Pixel Bars we decided to entirely remove the limitation on the amount of Fixtures that can be patched on a Chimp Console.
This release therefore is not limited by Fixture Count anymore and it is a free upgrade to all existing Chimp customers. By removing the limitation on Fixture count this release also paves the way for the upcoming release of Multi-Cell Fixtures where a limitation based on Fixture count wouldn't make sense anymore. Please keep in mind that visualizing a big number of fixtures simultaniously will heavily influence the graphical performance of the consoles.

New Feature: Open Sound Control Protocol:
-----------------------------------------
With OSC any Chimp Console or OnPc can now be remote controlled via suitable OSC remote applications on Smartphones and Tablets. We recommend TouchOSC as a reference implementation.

Chimp OSC allows extensive remote control including:
  - Master Fader and Button control
  - Playback Fader and Button control
  - Executor control including name feedback
  - Name Feedback for all Faders and Executors
  - Fader and Executor Page Control
  - Numberblock Remote control including commandline content feedback
  - Direct Fixture Selection Hotkey access
  - Programmer Blind, Highlight and Fan buttons including LED feedback
  - Direct Feature Control for all available Features via virtual OSC feature encoders, faders and potentiometers
  - Pan/Tilt control support via OSC x/y Trackpad
  - Pan/Tilt control support via Tablet/Smartphone accelerometer

Detailed TouchOSC configuration examples can be found on the Highlite Website.

New Features:
  - sACN networking protocol including sACN priority management
  - Removal of Limitation on Fixture Count for Consoles and OnPc
  - Fetch mode Indicator for all Faders which are blocked during Fetch Mode

Other Changes:
  - When clicking on cancel or save while editing a library, a confirmation window will be displayed
  - Improved Read/Write Access Performance to USB sticks (OnPc and Console)
  - Improved Fader Reset mechanism on deleted or reconfigured Faders
  - Overall Performance Improvements
  - Fixture Library update as of 18.12.2019

Bugfixes:
  - Fixed deletion of a group didn't delete matching group items in Magic Sheet
  - Add Selected Fixtures button in MagicSheets is now properly Enabled / Disabled after opening MagicSheet
  - Fixed Crash in MagicSheet related to fast clicking on at least two different Labels / Items
  - Fixed USB Event Bug where Import/Export Dialogs wouldn't automatically refresh USB content when a stick was
    connected/disconnected
  - Fixed DHCP Bug where quick switching between DHCP and Manual Setting without a Network Cable would lock up the GUI
    for 20 Minutes
  - Fixed Cuelist would not release on last Cue automatically, if last Cue only contains values with 0s Fade+Delay Value
  - Fixed Cuelist would not show outfading status to Clients, if Cuelist Release is triggered by automatic release at last Cue
  - Fixed dual-row texts in tables[/size]

Wow awesome that the fixture limitation is no longer an issue.

I really like the OSC functionality. Big Grin
A big improvement on this side would be the possibility to access faders and executors of a specified page directly via the OCS independent from the currently selected page. Angel
So maybe something like /chimp/fader/direct/<pagenumber>/<fader1-30>/<action -> go, pause, flash, value, name>
Same with the executors.

I have a dedicated page for all master faders and it would be awesome if I could controll this faders directly via OSC without having to switch to the page during a show.

Question
Hi There, Is there any news after almost 6 months regarding a new firmware WITH multifixtures?

Hello,

multicell is a VERY complex issue, causing us to rewrite and questions many parts of the concept / code of the console.
However, due to this massive re-write we'll most likely be able to add some features that have been on the wish list for a while.

Please hang in there - the Community will be the first to learn about the Update when its ready Smile

Best,

Denis

Oh - and something I'd love to add:

We would too love to be done with Multicell, so we have time to focus on some more cool and community requested features Smile

So as said, please hang in there for a while.

Keep Chimpin',

Denis

Hi Forum Members,
I was just wanting to know if the Chimp 100 or 300 utilising Software Version 1.11 (20/12/19) has any RDM features or functionality?
Kind regards,
Michael.
