[FIXED] Bananawing Universe 5&6 not available
#1
Hello,

We have a Chimp300 and a Banana Wing. If both are connected, the Universe 5 and 6 should be unlocked. But it is not. What can be the problem. Otherwise everything works with the Wing. OS 1.05 is installed.

best regards Kai

Hi Kai,

Could you swap out your usb a to b cable and see if this solves your problem.

Cheers,
With kind regards,

Hi,
can swap the cable in the near future. We use a usb cable with neutrik plug. I do not think it is the cable, The data connection works so yes. I can use the fader. Only the universe 5 and 6 will not be unlocked. Use dmx over artnet, Do not need the dmx outs on the wing.

sometimes when unplugging the usb, an inrush current or static charge can cause the usb cominication to fail.

try to power down the wing for a few seconds without loosening the usb cable between wing.
after powerup, the wing will make connection with your chimp and all should be ok.
Feed your Chimp, Keep Calm or go Banana's!!

It is not the problem that once does not work. have built the connection already several times, there works the wing. Also use an external touch on the wing which works too. So the data connection works without problems. only the universe 5 and 6 will not be unlocked. I have no problems with breaks or interruptions, the activation is simply not. and with the characteristics we bought the wing and there it should go.

Best regards, Kai

problem solved. We tried again connecting with different cables. works now. Maybe it was a contact proplem.

Could have been; but we also recently identified an issue with the USB Stack used in the microprocessors in the PCBs that may cause such behavior. It's fixed for the Multi-Cell Release.
Best,
